Hello, Marchetto

Since I’ve drafted some decidedly weird shit to post this week, I thought a solid traditional piece would balance things out nicely. With nearly a year since the last  Chris Marchetto post, and his upcoming guest spot at Adorned in NYC, I think I can safely say this guy fits the bill.

A quick exploration of ‘con safos’

Let’s start our day with a non-offensive 2:48 video from Dan Smith. While those deeply entrenched in the worlds of graffiti and tattooing may already be familiar with Con Safos–I wasn’t.

From Wikipedia:

con safos: a Chicano term meaning “with safety,” used to mark graffiti. If such a piece was marked with “con safos,” it was off limits, a sort of trademark, and a way of indicating that a graffito was complete and unarguable.
