Keith Ciaramello battles Hurricane Sandy

One of the many victims of Hurricane Sandy was Keith Ciaramello’s shop, Kustom Kulture Gallery. Since the storm has passed, Keith has been dealing with putting his life back together, hassling with the headaches of insurance companies, and trying to make life somewhat normal again.

To make the financial burden a little easier, Keith has started auctioning a variety of personal items. Some of these items are personal items, other pieces are original pieces by Keith, and some are donations from fellow artists. If you’re interested in helping out, visit Keith’s website and start bidding.

Too fast for love

Philip Szlosek moved from Florida to NYC a few months back, and for whatever reason I neglected to do due diligence & post about it. Here’s a couple of my favorites since he made the move:

Been a while since we’ve seen a Thomas Hooper interview

There’s been a bit of a lull in interviews & artists spotlights on Thomas Hooper  - and that makes sense, given he’s a busy man: tattooing, art shows, parenting, painting – there’s just not enough time to do it all. The newest interview from 3sixteen does a nice job of covering the tattoos, geometric patterns and religious imagery that’s gained Thomas widespread acclaim over the last few years.
Oh, and there’s some damned good pictures. Read the full interview via 3sixteen here.

The day after, and completely abnormal

Obviously the day after part of this headline talks about the presidential election yesterday. No matter whose side you were on, you have pride in our system and the people coming together to decide. The abnormal is the fact this is clearly something that Tim Kern does not typically do, and I’m willing to bet those familiar with Tim’s work took a second look at this (just like I did.)
