Shrek-o-phile

I love kids movies as much as the next fully grown adult without children – but I don’t know if I love any of them enough to get a full sleeve dedicated to one. (This being said by someone with a plethora of Lenore tattoos… clearly you should all take me very seriously.)

Brave Little Toaster

I feel like nobody makes animated movies like these anymore… the kids of today are missing out!

(Also, can we talk about the grumpy vacuum/crybaby electric blanket dynamic for a second?)

Untraditionally Clockwork Orange

When I saw this tattoo of Mark Blanchard’s, I knew there was a bit of a story behind the piece. He had this to share with us about it:

My client threw out the idea of doing A Clockwork Orange piece. My first thought was to use an object from the film that was no question recognizable from the movie. Going with the mask on its own I’m sure would have been enough to depict A Clockwork Orange tattoo, but adding another object just would have made it more interesting. So, thinking of another intense part from the movie, I went with the brainwashing theater scene and came with the mechanical eye-clamps onto the drama mask.

As they say, “That was a real kick and good for laughs and lashings of the old ultraviolent.”

What hump?

Honestly there’s too many quotes worth repeating from Young Frankenstein. If you haven’t seen the movie, you should. And if you have seen it, I’m sure you’ll get the post title reference.

Phone home

You’re damn right I wanted to phone home after I saw this. Strangely, my mother was not convinced of my need for an ode to E.T. through tattoo work. She’s so picky!
