Last week there was an interesting conversation on the Tattoo Snob Instagram regarding whether or not a navel should be blacked on torso pieces. People kicked around different ideas, but we didn’t reach a general consensus.
What do you think? Should every navel be blacked out? Does it depend on the piece? The artist? Where do pain tolerances come into play? Leave your thoughts in the comment, I’m interested in hearing what everyone thinks.

I’ve always been a fan of the Japanese tattoo style, and unfortunately it’s not the ‘in’ thing in most circles nowadays. Sure, people are tattooing Japanese-inspired art, but the style isn’t quite the same. That’s ok though, because if you hold out long enough, everything comes back into style.
For those of you who don’t know, the Japanese frog represents changes in life and wisdom. How appropriate for today, right?
