Strokes from Cody Eich

I don’t think this piece is the most accurate representation of Cody Eich’s style on the whole, but he just posted it and it caught my eye.

Brush, splatter, stroke

If you’re into the watercolor/brushstroke/paint splatter look and you’re in France… well, you’re in luck. It looks like he had you covered if you’re a fan of art brut, too.

Paint on!

Do you think the watercolor/brush stroke style will ever catch on as widely in the US as it has overseas? I’m leaning toward “no”. Good thing the internet has no geographic limitations when it comes to photo lurking.

A fabulous flamingo

While I know not everyone appreciates the more “paint”-like tattoos I post on Tattoo Snob, I want to say that if you’re going to get one along those lines–do it right. Get a good one. Fly to the Czech Republic, if need be.

(Sidenote: I realized recently how many names I’ve been posting that I can’t pronounce. If anyone can break it down for me phonetically, I’d be most appreciative.)

Like a painting, but as a tattoo

Tattoos that look more like paintings than, well, tattoos may not appeal to everyone–but I feel safe in saying it seems this is one so-called “trend” that’s here to stay.

What do you guys think? (And if you’re going to go on about how “only bold will hold” please, just make a bumper sticker to point to & move along.)
