This was posted on Brandon Schultheis’ Instagram account, but it wasn’t nearly big enough so Brandon sent over this large format so we could really check it out.

A Head of the Wilderness

I’m still on the fence about someone tattooing their head if they’re not financially set, but I suppose if they’re going to do it – do it right.

This is hell of a piece, and I’d stoked to see this in person.

When Tattoos Go Wrong

June 27th, 2014 by Kevin -

Tattoo removal is a subject that you don’t hear a ton about, and there’s a lot of different theories on what works and what doesn’t work. I’m not going to go into the nitty gritty of that right now, but I am going to show you this new video from Kristen Leanne and Dr. Tatoff. Dr. Tatoff has a ton of other videos on YouTube, but most of them feature tattoos that were poorly done and the impact of a single laser session can be seen almost immediately. This isn’t the case with Kristen’s piece. The design may be poorly done, but the quality looks to be half way decent.

It always irritates me when they show a tattoo being lasered off in one session, and that’s not the case for most people. They do this so you don’t think “Four sessions, one every six to twelve weeks and $_____ per session? I’ll keep the piece.” The truth is that most people are going to need multiple sessions before they can even think about covering up a piece, and they don’t want to tell you that until they’re sitting face to face with you.

I hope Kristen and Dr. Tatoff continue these videos. I would love to see how this progresses, and how many sessions it takes before it’s covered up.

The Skull Obsession Continues

Yesterday I talked about how I love skull tattoos, and today is even more proof. Seriously, the subject matter can be this and the tattoo below?

I know skulls can be a little overplayed in the tattoo world, but I think it’s all about how you and your artist approach them, and how you look at the versatility of them.

Did you know The Simpsons has their own Instagram? I don’t know if it’s original content, but it’s always fun to hear a good Simpsons quote in between food and baby pictures.

Dino Nemec submitted a slew of great pieces, but this one was my personal favorite. I mean, c’mon – who doesn’t love a skull?
