Keith Ciaramello versus DVD Bootleggers

September 14th, 2011 by Kevin -

We don’t normally post too many industry related topics here on the website. I feel like most tattoo collectors don’t really care about that, plus Tattoo Artist Magazine does a great job with that coverage already.

With that being said, Keith Ciaramello recently posted this YouTube video about his DVD being pirated on eBay. In the video, Keith explains a friend ordered his DVD from specific users (and he even mentions whom those users are.) Keith goes onto to open the package, on video and shows it’s just a copied DVD.While this type of thing has been going on forever, it’s nice to see Keith approaching it head on.

If you’re a tattoo artist or collector that’s interested in the industry, you’ll probably enjoy this video. If not, disregard everything above and check out this killer bulldog tattoo Keith did below.

Skin Deep Tattoo Magazine going digital

February 18th, 2011 by Kevin -

In an effort to stay relative in a digital age, Skin Deep Tattoo Magazine is now being sold on a digital subscription.

I’m glad to see Skin Deep taking this step, I know it’s tough for anyone in print to stay profitable. I don’t know if it’s the economy or the digital age (or a combination of both,) but magazines need to adapt to the times – if they want to survive.

Come out to Evolution Tattoo

February 16th, 2011 by Kevin -

On February 27th, Evolution Tattoo will be holding a fund raiser for tattoo artist Paul Humphrey.

Paul’s son, Presley Ray-Humphrey, was born on December 12th with a twisted bowel. A surgery to correct this has already been done, and the young lad is recovering well. As you can imagine, the medical bills are ridiculous, so Evolution Tattoo decided to hold an event to help.

I don’t have a ton of details about the event, but I know the event will include tattooing, auctions, music, and children’s events.

Gunnar gets in the Groove

January 17th, 2011 by Kevin -

Last week, The Columbus Groove featured a short interview with Gunnar. The article focused on his newest art project, ‘Story to Tell.’

“The original painting started as two 3×4 foot canvas panels. After I sketched in the Jersey Devil, Rich picked up another panel and asked me to paint in the Atco Ghost, another local legend. Then he picked up another and another…so when it was complete the sketch was 4×27 feet…”

For up to date information on this project, follow Gunnar on Facebook and/or Twitter.
