Featured Artist: Amy Duncan

September 9th, 2010 by Julene Huffman -

When I first came across Amy Duncan, it was quite by accident. A very happy accident, I must say. Tattooing for only six years out of Australia (please, someone keep me from making a “land down under” reference), this young lady is definitely worth keeping an eye on until she’s traveling to whatever nation you call home.

Featured Artist: Ryan Mason

July 21st, 2010 by Julene Huffman -

Based out of Portland, Ryan Mason is surely an artist not to missed by anyone capable of finding themselves in his neck of the woods. The response he has received online to his unique style of tattooing is astonishing, much like his practice of booking no more than two months out. With less than 10 years in the industry under his belt, his level of skill can only be attributed to natural talent, despite his frequent protests that he’s “not an artist”.

Featured Artist: Timmy B

July 14th, 2010 by Kevin -

At the Richmond Tattoo Show last year (2009), I was told to check out a portfolio from a guy by the name of Timmy B. He wasn’t at his booth, but I looked through photos of his work –I was impressed, to say the least. As he approached the booth, I was shocked to see someone under the age of forty standing before me. At only twenty-three years old, Timmy has become the talk of the east coast over the past few years. This could be credited to his relentless travel schedule, but I think with work like his it was just a matter of time before his name was on the tip of everyone’s tongue.

Featured Artist: Stina Sardinha

June 11th, 2010 by Julene Huffman -

Stina Sardinha may not be a name you’re well acquainted with, but it should be. Given how long she’s been tattooing, it?s quite surprising that she doesn’t have one preferred “style” when it comes to tattooing. With talent a decade in the making, it’s no wonder this rising star has started to attract some well-deserved attention from the tattooing world.

Featured Artist: David Bruehl

May 21st, 2010 by Julene Huffman -

When I first saw photos of David Bruehl‘s work, I was amazed that I had never come across his work before. Tattooing since August 2001, mostly in Florida, it’s hard to believe he hasn’t received more widespread attention. Before tattooing, he attended the Savannah College of Art and Design in the Illustration department. Taking a bold, graphic approach to tattooing has really shaped his work as being able to stand the test of time without sacrificing the opportunity to add in many finer details. Like an oasis of talent tucked away in Norman, OK I can only hope his work and approach to tattooing not just as an art form but a profession gains widespread attention.
